The city solicited for and received two quotes to sealcoat approximately 33,850 square yards of bituminous trail in and along various streets and parks within Shakopee (see attached map). This work is being done as planned, routine trail maintenance to extend the useful life of the trails.
Two quotes were received as follows:
- Gopher State Sealcoat, Inc. $40,958.50
- MP Asphalt Maintenance LLC $66,007.50
Gopher State Sealcoat, Inc., from Savage, Minnesota, is the low bidder in the amount of $40,958.50. Gopher State Sealcoat, Inc., has the capacity and experience for the project and is deemed a responsible bidder. They are prepared to begin work immediately with an anticipated completion by September 14, 2018. | | |

This work is included in the 2018 budget under the Park Maintenance Fund in the amount of $40,000. The total project cost is slightly over budget by 2.4 percent ($958.50). | | |
