Public Works Organizational Structure Changes.
Policy/Action Requested:
Approve the Public Works organizational structure changes, implementation plan, and addition of a Streets Maintenance Operator.
Recommendation:

Approval of requested action.

Discussion:

The attached memo and exhibits provide an overview of the existing structural organization of the City of Shakopee's Public Works Department and recommended revisions to meet the needs of the growing community and infrastructure. 

Budget Impact:

The proposed 2019 budget includes the necessary expenditures to implement the recommended changes. The additional Streets Maintenance Operator position and other position changes are expected to impact the following budgets, revenue sources and funds as follows:

 

General Levy                             +$27,500

Sanitary Sewer Fund                 -$5,100

Surface Water Fund                  -$5,100

Developer Engineering Fees    +$79,600

 

The other minor position adjustments fall within their respective budgets.
