Adopt Resolutions R2018-119 and R2018-120.

On July 17, 2018, City Council adopted Resolution R2018-083, accepting quotes and awarding the contract for the Sommerville Alley Sewer Extension Project.

The improvements have been constructed and are now complete. The contract construction costs are $49,019.00 and engineering/administration/legal costs are $7,723.72 resulting with a final total project cost of $56,742.72. The attached resolution declares total project costs, the final project funding amounts, and the total cost to be assessed.  

An agreement for payment of special assessments for a portion of this project by the property owner of 225 Sommerville Street South in the amount of $12,500.00 was executed by the property owner and the city on October 17, 2017.  Through this agreement, the property owner also waived the right to a public hearing for special assessment. Additionally, a Scott County grant in the amount of $6,000 will be used to fund a portion of the public sewer extension project as part of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency grant funding available to remove old septic systems.

This project is substantially complete, project costs are identified, and only minor miscellaneous punch list items remain to be completed. The final project cost is $56,742.72, which includes construction and engineering/administration/legal costs.  A breakdown of the project funding is as follows:
