Community Center/Ice Arena Update

Phase 5 of the Community Center renovations is still on schedule to be completed at the end of June. All of the walls are roughed in and drywall is being hung. Most of the mechanical and electrical has been installed. The deep end of the lap pool has been dug and formed. The concrete base is complete and the crews are waiting for it to cure before moving to the shallower end of the lap pool and the leisure pool. Staff is working with a muralist on ideas for the large walls of the aquatic center. Staff has also finalized the indoor playground. The playground will be installed once the upper level of phase 5 is complete and the new fitness space can be utilized. Staff is also finalizing the furniture and color selections for the teen center.

Park Development Update

Quarry Lake Park

The Parks Department is working on a design for the gazebo and staff will be applying for an Outdoor Recreation Grant for additional docks and a small shelter at Quarry Lake. The grant deadline is March 31st.

Fun For All Inclusive Playground

Staff is waiting for donor board designs from the playground representatives. We hope to have the design finalized in early April and have the grand opening in May.

Tahpah Park West

The construction of the full size baseball field is currently out to bid. Bids are due back on March 28th. It is anticipated that the City Council will  award the contract on April 18th. Substantial completion is scheduled for June 16th.

Lions Park Warming House/Shelter

The revised project is currently out for bid. Bids are due back on April 11th. It is anticipated that the City Council will award the bid contract on April 18th. Substantial complete is scheduled for the beginning of September, 2017.
