Discussion:
The city's Surface Water Management Plan (SWMP) was last updated in 2012 as part of the local watersheds' requirements to update the city's plan within two years of the watersheds' plan updates. Likewise and as part of the Metropolitan Council's requirement to update the city's overall comprehensive plan, the SWMP and the city's Sanitary Sewer Master Plan have both been updated, accordingly. A draft of each are attached and presentations will be provided to the council for each of these plans. WSB staff will present their work on the SWMP and AE2S staff will present their work on the Sanitary Sewer Master Plan (see attached presentations).
The surface water and sanitary sewer plans are generally technical in nature and have been updated to coincide with the goals, strategies, land uses, and densities as proposed and contained in Envision Shakopee. Following a 60-day review period, the city will consider jurisdictional input received and make adjustments as necessary. Other changes, edits, and refinements as desired and warranted will be made to the plans over the course of the next few months to coincide with the final delivery of Envision Shakopee. It is expected that the executive summaries of the SWMP and Sanitary Sewer Master Plan will be used to update the appropriate sections in the Envision Shakopee document, the complete individual plans will be included in the appendix.
