Approve quote for the purchase of required Comcast broadcast equipment, fiber installation to Comcast head-end, and all fiber terminations for $30,109. | | |

Approve the fiber installation, equipment, and connections by Comcast to provide the functionality and bandwidth to broadcast PEG channels from our new City Hall location. | | |
| | | | | | | | Discussion:
The city's current Comcast provided broadcast equipment is no longer supported or stocked by Comcast for repairs. Transplanting the old Comcast equipment to the new City Hall was not seen as a viable solution.
Several options for new equipment were discussed and fiber was the only solution from Comcast that would provide the city the bandwidth required for cable television PEG broadcasts.
As part of our current franchise agreement with Comcast, the city is required to pay for any upgrades or moving of equipment to a new building over 125' from the current location. | | |

The request amount for completion of work, $30,109, is available from our current PEG fund balance. Due to the timing of the work, the winter rate of $35,447 does not apply. | | |
