An internal candidate (Keith Raines) has been offered the Public Works Department Parks Supervisor position, contingent upon City Council approval. The position was vacated as a result of promoting our prior supervisor to the Public Works Superintendent position.

Based on overall qualifications, experience, and Mr. Raines' current wage and average overtime pay, a promotion was offered to him at Grade 180, Step 5 ($83,489 annual). As a note, it has been past practice to request council approval when hiring a candidate at or above the middle pay scale for a position. It should also be noted that the Parks Supervisor position was revised from a Grade 170 (non-exempt) to grade 180 (exempt) as part of the Public Works organizational structure changes, approved on December 18, 2018.
