Discussion:
The county state aid highway system is a network of key highways under the jurisdiction of Minnesota’s counties. Counties receive formula-based state money to assist in the construction, improvement and maintenance of highways included in the state-aid system.
On November 21, 2017, the Scott County Board of Commissioners passed a resolution establishing and designating a portion of County Road 69, from CSAH 78 to 0.241 miles north, as County State Aid Highway 69 (see attached map). Scott County has subsequently submitted a request to the Mn/DOT State Aid Office to change the official designation.
In conjunction with the County's designation, any addition, revision or revocation of the CSAH system within the corporate limits of a municipality must also be approved by resolution of the governing body of the municipality.
The County roadway designation is consistent with what is represented in the west end study. Staff recommends adoption of the concurring municipal resolution attached to this memo.
