Discussion:
As part of the city's annual routine inspection and maintenance of the sanitary and storm sewer systems, 26 sanitary sewer manholes and 40 catch basins were identified that need repairs. The needed work includes repairing the deteriorated concrete adjustment rings that are installed between the concrete manhole/catch basin and the cast iron frame and ring castings. The concrete rings deteriorate over time due to numerous reason including corrosive gases present in the sanitary sewer, salt and frost, etc.
The manholes and catch basins will be repaired in-situ from the inside of the manhole with no excavation needed. The concrete rings will be repaired and a corrosive resistant coating will be applied.
Quotations were solicited and two quotes received. Ess Brothers submitted the lowest bid at $40,720.00 (see attached) and have the experience and capacity to responsibly complete the prescribed work.
