| | | | | | | | | FROM: | Darin Nelson, Finance Director | | TO: | Mayor and Council Members |
| | | |
| | | | | | | | Subject: Declare Amounts, Order the Preparation of Proposed Assessments, Set a Public Hearing Date for Delinquent False Alarm & Mowing Service Bills
| | |
| | | | | | | | Policy/Action Requested: Adopt Resolution No.R2019-101, a resolution declaring the amount to be assessed, ordering the preparation of proposed assessments and setting the public hearing date for delinquent ordinance services.
| | |
| | | | | | | | Recommendation:
Staff recommends that City Council
- Assess all delinquent 2019 false alarm and lawn mowing customers,
- Set the public hearing date of October 15, 2019,
- Beginning October 16, 2019 a city administrative charge of $25.00 will be added to unpaid balances.
| | |
| | | | | | | | Discussion: The city routinely certifies past due bills for collection with the property taxes. To date the city has been unable to collect $390.00 for false alarm services for one parcel and $150.00 for delinquent mowing fees, for two parcels. The city will charge an additional $25 administrative fee if the delinquent assessments become levied to cover the city’s administrative costs.
| | |
| | | | | | | | Budget Impact: The $25.00 delinquent charge would be revenue to cover the administrative costs; therefore, there is no impact on the budget.
