| | | | | | | | Policy/Action Requested: Adopt Res. No. R2019-137 accepting a grant award from CenterPoint Energy. | | |
| | | | | | | | Recommendation: Adopt Res. No. R2019-137. | | |
| | | | | | | | Discussion:
In April 2019, a grant application to the CenterPoint Energy Community Partnership was submitted to purchase four QRAE 3 Wireless 4-gas Monitors. These monitors provide detection and monitoring of oxygen, combustibles, and toxic gases: Carbon Monoxide, Sulfur Dioxide, and lower explosive limits (LEL). The monitors also detect hydrogen sulfide and hydrogen cyanide. The monitors deliver real-time readings and alarm status which allows for better incident visibility and response time.
The Fire Department was notified in August 2019 of the award of $2,000. | | |
| | | | | | | | Budget Impact: The cost of four monitors is $4,000, of which a 50% grant match is required. The $2,000 grant match amount is covered under the Fire Department's budget. | | |
