Appointment of Cody Hendricks to the rank of Sergeant.
Policy/Action Requested:
Appoint Cody Hendricks to fill the vacant sergeant's position. 
Recommendation:
Appoint Cody Hendricks to the rank of sergeant.
Discussion:

The police department has one vacant sergeant position due to the promotion of Jason Arras to the captain position. The Police Civil Service Commission has conducted the necessary testing and established the police sergeant eligible register. The following names are the top candidates, listed in alphabetical order, on the eligible register established by the Police Civil Service Commission.

I recommend the appointment of Cody Hendricks to Police Sergeant at step 1 of the 2019 Sergeant Contract at a monthly rate of $7,661.22 or hourly rate of $44.20.

Budget Impact:
Funds exist in the police budget for this position.
