| | | | | | | | Policy/Action Requested: Authorize the execution of a Professional Services Agreement with WSB, Inc., for the Cretex/Forterra Traffic Study. | | |
| | | | | | | | Recommendation: Authorize execution of the Agreement. | | |
| | | | | | | | Discussion:
A developer has expressed interest in redeveloping the former Cretex/Forterra site in eastern Shakopee (see attached). Due to the size of the proposed redevelopment, a transportation study is warranted to evaluate the impacts that the proposed development will have on the local transportation system as well as to identify needed improvements.
City staff needs assistance from a design consultant to perform this transportation study. City staff worked with WSB, Inc., to develop a work plan and professional services agreement to deliver this work. WSB has the technical skill, experience and capacity to provide the needed services and is a part of the city's consultant pool. The attached Professional Services Agreement authorizes and describes the scope and fee for their work on this project. | | |
| | | | | | | | Budget Impact: The scope of WSB's work is proposed to cost (not to exceed) $26,994 with $24,657 of the total being paid by the developer. The remaining $2,337 would be paid out of the Engineering Operating Budget as part of an expanded scope that will evaluate possible higher density development and traffic scenarios that are not part of the proposed development. | | |
