Approve the purchase of trailer mounted portable sewer pump from Minnesota Pump Works in the amount of $98,790.00.

The replacement of the trailer mounted portable sewer pump is included in the 2020 Capital Improvement Plan (see attached CIP summary sheet Sewer-20-016). The pump is used for emergency pumping of sanitary sewer and storm sewer (flooding) as needed, most notably it is the backup pump for the city's Lift Station #16.  

Bids for the portable pump were solicited and received as follows:

The lowest bid meeting all required specifications is from Minnesota Pump Works in the amount of $98,790.00.

The existing pump is well past it's life expectancy but will be kept as a backup.

The budget for the pump per the CIP is $98,000. The total purchase amount for the pump is 98,790.00, which is $790.00 (0.81 percent) over budget. This purchase is funded under the Sanitary Sewer Fund.
