| | | | | | | | Discussion: Trident Shakopee West LLC is requesting that the City Council approve their vacation of public right-of-way, and access, drainage and utility easements as dedicated within Outlot A and Lot 1, Block 1, Powers First Addition, and Lot 1, Block 1, Jackson Elementary School, located at the northeast corner of CSAH 16 (17th Avenue) and Marystown Road (CSAH 15).
Trident Shakopee West LLC is proposing a second phase of development of this property that requires a new plat submittal in conjunction with this vacation of public right-of-way, and access, drainage and utility easements. If approved, the new plat will incorporate new right of way and easements consistent with City and utility requirements.
City departments, Scott County and other outside agencies were given the opportunity to review and provide comments regarding this application. City Engineering, Comcast and SPUC support the request, provided that the vacation be concurrent with new right-of-way and drainage & utility easements being granted within the proposed POWERS SECOND ADDITION plat at the requested size and locations, and that a title search is conducted to confirm other interest from utility holders in any existing/underlying easements on the property.
On Tuesday, June 16, 2020, the City Council will hold a public hearing to consider the vacation of the public right-of-way, and access, drainage and utility easements. At this public hearing, comments from staff members and utilities, as well as a recommendation from the Planning Commission, will be presented to the City Council for consideration.
