Shakopee Lions Club Shade Structures.
Policy/Action Requested:
Approve agreement and accept donation of shade structures for the Lions Park splashpad from the Shakopee Lions Club.
Recommendation:
Authorize the execution of the agreement.
Discussion:

The Shakopee Lions Club is requesting to donate five shade structures to be installed around the Lions splashpad at Lions park (see attached exhibits). The City will purchase the shade structures in the amount of $23,808.28 on behalf of the Shakopee Lions using Lions donations. The Shakopee Lions will then either have volunteers or the vendor install the shade structures. Any additional charges that may occur due to installation will be the responsibility of the Shakopee Lions Club. The attached agreement defines the terms of the purchase and maintenance responsibilities between the city and the Lions Club.

 

The shade structures agreement was recommended for approval by a 5-0 vote by the Parks Recreation Advisory Board on June 8, 2020.

Budget Impact:
No direct impact to the city budget with the purchase.
