The project is 21.7% over the 2020 CIP budget. Note that the original project was delayed from 2020 to 2021 due to coordination with CenterPoint Energy. Project cost increases are mostly a result of an additional year cost escalation and the updated detailed estimating as part of the final design based on recent comparative project costs. It is recommended to proceed with the understanding that actual project costs will be determined once the project is bid, possibly resulting in a lower overall project cost.
