Background
As part of the Parks and Recreation Master Plan, Lion's Park was reviewed for potential upgrades and/or layout changes to provide a better user experience for the many activities which call Lion's Park home. This is one the most heavily used park's in the city because of the diversity of user experiences that are available.
This includes but is not limited to ice skaters, pickleball, disc golf and the fun-for-all playground users. Staff has determined that as part of planning work for SandVenture, it would be important to consider any potential layout changes to the larger park concurrently. This includes recommendations from the Master Plan. Because of the large group of potential users beyond SandVenture, there will be a larger public engagement strategy to ensure that all the park's current and potential users have input.

The proposed contract is for $20,050 to be paid from the Park Development fund. This work is budgeted in the 2020 CIP.
