| | | | | | | | Subject: Update on Lion's Park Planning |
| | | | | | | | Policy/Action Requested: No action is requested at this time. |
| | | | | | | | Recommendation: Staff recommends offering any feedback on the planning process at this time. |
| | | | | | | | Discussion: As part of the Parks, Trails and Recreation Master Plan, Lion's Park was identified as a park to further study for to better accommodate and improve the existing uses within the park. This includes, but is not limited to, SandVenture, Pickleball, Disc Golf and Hockey. Given the existing planning happening at SandVenture, Staff determined that planning for the park and the aquatic facility should occur concurrently. Confluence Design, the consultant working on SandVenture has proposed design services for the park which will be brought to the City Council at their regularly scheduled meeting on December 15, 2020. If the proposal is approved, community engagement for the park would begin immediately. |
| | | | | | | | Budget Impact: The proposed services are for $24,050 to be paid from the Park Development fund. This work is budgeted in the 2020-2021 CIP. |
