General Fund - April 2021 (See attachment)

This early in the year, the timing of one or two large receipts or payments tend to skew the variances.

Revenue Variances (+/- 10% of 33% target)

  • Taxes and special assessments will remain below the budget targets until the first half tax settlement is received.
  • Intergovernmental is below budget targets, a significant portion will be received in fall.  Additionally, the City anticipates receiving federal funding from the American Rescue Plan in May or June.
  • Licenses and permits are exceeding the budget amount as a result of building permit revenue received through April.

Expenditure Variances (+/- 10% of 33% target)

  • All departmental expenditures are within budget and similar to last year's percentage through April.
  • Finance is currently below the budget target, but does not currently include the payment for the County's assessment contract which will likely occur in May.
  • Street maintenance is currently below the budget target, the majority of departmental expenses occur during the summer months.
  • Unallocated is below the budget target as a result of unspent contingency funds.

Community Center/Ice Arena/Sand Venture - April 2021 (See attachment)

Ice Arena

  • Revenues are up through this time last year and ahead in terms of budget targets.

Community Center

  • Operations continue to be impacted by Covid-19. Revenues are similar to the previous year, but below budget targets.  We are seeing month to month increases in revenues for each of the first four months of the year.
