Discussion:

On January 21, 2020, City Council authorized the execution of a professional services agreement with AE2S to perform a feasibility study for the West End (Low Bluff) Lift Station and Forcemain Project, SEWER-24-001.

The feasibility study has been completed and is attached for Council review. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the feasibility of extending trunk sanitary sewer improvements, and identify feasible lift station site locations and force main alignments that can serve the west end of the community. The report also addresses the estimated improvement costs and funding.

Based on unknown land development scenarios, City Council is being requested to provide guidance on the alternates for the needed sewer lift station and forcemain to serve the future developments in the west end of the community.

A presentation will be provided at the City Council meeting (see attached)

Budget Impact:

The estimated total project cost for Alternative 1 is $1,085,250 and Alternative 2 is 1,438,500, which consists of estimated construction costs, contingency, ,easements and engineering/administration/legal costs. The following Costs and Funding Summary provides the estimated amounts as planned in the 2021 Capital Improvement Plan and the attached feasibility report.
