The Shakopee Youth Hockey Association, Blue Line Club and Center Ice Club have submitted a proposal to construct a trophy case in the Shakopee Ice Arena. The location requested for the trophy case is in the lobby breakout area, between the TV's on the north wall (near the tables). The trophy case is proposed to be 16 feet wide by 9 feet tall with a glass front and glass shelves. Attached is an example of what the trophy case is proposed to look like.

The Shakopee Youth Hockey Association, Blue Line Club and Center Ice Clubs will maintain the trophies within the case and rotate the trophies each season. The groups will also maintain the cleanliness of the interior of the case. The Ice Arena staff will clean the exterior of the case.

Smaller wall mounted trophy cases were on display in the previous ice arena however the cases were aged and did not get reinstalled in the new arena.

Upon completion of the trophy case the groups have requested the ability to put a plaque on the trophy case to recognize their contribution. Staff is supportive of the proposal as presented.
