| | | | | | | | Subject: Quarry Lake Park Improvements - Mountain Bike Trail Project. | | |
| | | | | | | | Policy/Action Requested: Accept a quote and award a contract in the amount of $201,909.50 to Pathfinder Trail Building for Quarry Lake Mountain Bike Trail Project PR-21-006. | | |
| | | | | | | | Recommendation: Approval as recommended. | | |
| | | | | | | | Discussion:
The city's Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) contains the Quarry Lake Park Improvements Project. A portion of this project consists of constructing a new mountain bike trail. Plans were prepared over the last year for the mountain bike trail improvements consistent with the park master planning (see attached general layout sheet).
The Minnesota State Contract was used to determine a list of qualified contractors to solicit a quote. A quote was received from Pathfinder Trail Building in the amount of $201,909.50 and is consistent and/or less than the pricing identified in State Contract No. 144394.
| | | | | | | | Budget Impact:
The CIP identified a total project cost of $1,350,000 for all improvements to Quarry Lake Park. Of this, $275,000 was dedicated for the construction of the mountain bike trail. Below is the costs and funding summary table comparing the CIP budget to the bid award budget.

The project is $6,014.50 (2.2 percent) over budget and is funded by the Park Development Fund.
