Staff from the Planning and Development Department would like to update the Board on the 2040 Comprehensive Plan process. Envision Shakopee is a community-oriented, consensus-focused comprehensive planning process designed to inspire all who live, work, play and learn in the city of Shakopee to take part in defining a clear vision for the future of our city. The Envision Shakopee 2040 Comprehensive Plan will be a guidebook for the city’s vision and blueprint for the next 20 years. It will reflect our shared concerns and aspirations, anticipate future growth and redevelopment needs, guide decision making, and address our responsibility to future generations.

Staff will provide an overview of the project, its timeline, the community engagement process and when feedback will be sought from boards and commissions. Board members are encouraged to review the project website, www.envisionshakopee.com, for additional information. Planning staff will be available to answer questions and gather input. Board members are strongly encouraged to attend the community workshop on Thursday, Oct. 12 at the Community Center from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
