Contract with the Shakopee Chamber of Commerce 
Policy/Action Requested:
Approve a contract with the Chamber of Commerce for 2021 for the Main Street Program for $25,000.
Recommendation:
Approve the contract.
Discussion:

The EDA has budgeted $25,000 to support the Chamber's Main Street Program by funding $25,000 a year, which was in the adopted 2021 EDA budget.

 

The contract includes language in Exhibit 1 - Scope of Services, which matches the National Main Street program criteria, including working in four areas for downtown:

 

A. Economic vitality;

B. Design;

C. Promotion and;

D. Organization.

 

The contract requires that the Chamber create a Steering Committee with two members from the city, including a staff member from the EDA and a Council Member.

Budget Impact:
Agreement is already budgeted in the 2020 EDA Budget
