Subject:
Purchase an electric vehicle for the building department amendment to the budget approved by Council on March 2, 2021 with resolution R2021-029. 
Policy/Action Requested:
Approve the purchase of a 2021 MACH-E electric vehicle from Ford of Hibbing, in the total amount of $48,870.00.
Recommendation:
Approval as requested.
Discussion:

At the March 2, 2021 City Council meeting, Resolution R2021-029 was approved which amended the 2021 Budget for the Building Department by adding $150,000 for salary, benefits, taxes, equipment, software and one time expenses for hiring a Building Inspector. The 2021 Ford MACH-E for building inspections is being purchased under the State of Minnesota Contract No. 169035 through Ford of Hibbing. A quotation form is attached and consistent with state contract pricing. This 2021 MACH-E electric vehicle will be an addition to the City fleet.

Budget Impact:
The budgeted amount for the electric vehicle is $50,000. The total purchase amount is $48,870.00 which is $1,130 (.02 percent) under budget. The vehicle is funded from Building Inspections.
