Discussion:
As part of the redevelopment of Canterbury Commons and the surrounding roadway improvements (Unbridled Avenue project and County Highway 83 project), multiple dedications and exchanges of property and easements were negotiated between the City of Shakopee, Scott County and Canterbury Park. On May 5, 2020, Shakopee City Council approved a mutual agreement with Scott County and Canterbury Park to document these land exchanges (see the attached City-County-Canterbury Agreement).
In accordance with the agreement (Item No. 2), the city has obtained the needed permanent easements on two parcels acquired as part of the Unbridled Avenue project (PINs 27-406-001-0 and 27-406-002-0). To complete the city's obligation pertaining to these parcels, city staff recommends reassigning the needed county easements, accordingly (see attached easement agreements).
Work will continue with Scott County and Canterbury to execute and record the remaining easements and dedications as part of the overall three-way agreement.
