The Shakopee of Chamber of Commerce ran a Downtown Farmer's Market in the Lewis Street Parking Lot on Sundays.  The market was moderately successful but feedback from farmers and users suggested a more visible location and a change of the day of the week.

The Chamber is proposing to close the parking lot behind River City Center on Fridays from 2PM until 6PM to hold a Farmer's Market.  The Chamber has contacted tenants in the RCC and also communicated with downtown merchants and there is support for the Market since it will bring activity to downtown.

Barricades will be installed at the western most entrance drive and on the eastern end to allow for accessible parking spaces.
