Discussion:
The city's primary sanitary sewer lift station (L-16) exists with three pumps. Two of the pumps are 20+ years old. One of the pumps failed and was replaced last year.
An evaluation and feasibility have been done for the L-16 Rehabilitation Project SEWER-19-001, (see attached CIP summary sheet). The replacement of the remaining two pumps is part of this upcoming project. In light of the current volatile economy, we are able to purchase two identical pumps in the amount of $46,576.38/each compared to the one that was replaced in 2020 that we purchased in the amount of $47,042.00.
The pumps would be purchased now in advance of the overall L-16 project and would be installed as part of that project later this year. If one of the existing pumps fails, we could swiftly replace the pump if needed.
With that said, quotations were solicited and received as follows:
Pump Replacements (3,700 gmp)
Minnesota Pump Works $93,152.75 (ABS 115 HP pump)
Wisconsin Pump Works $114,000.00 (ABS 115 HP pump)
Accordingly, the low bid for the pumps is from Minnesota Pump Works in the amount of $93,152.75.
