| | | | | | | | Recommendation: Approve Resolution R2021-102. | | |
| | | | | | | | Discussion:
In April 2021 the city applied for a $2,500 CenterPoint Energy Community Safety Grant for two (2) Traffic Logix SafePace Evolution 12FM radar speed signs. The new signs are fully programmable, record traffic speed and volume data and provide visual driver feedback with programmable messaging for drivers operating over the designated speed limit. City staff use these signs throughout the city where concerns of high speed have been reported, and they are highly effective in lowering traffic speeds while in use.
The city was awarded the grant for $2,500 on June 7, 2021. | | |
| | | | | | | | Budget Impact:
| This grant requires a 50% match up to the maximum grant request of $2500. One Traffic Logix SafePace Evolution 12 FM radar speed sign costs $2,899, for a total of $5,798. Freight costs are $313. The city will cover $3,611 which will come out of the Engineering Operational budget. |
