Discussion:

The city's Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) contains the Whispering Oaks Lift Station Decommission Project, which consists of the removal of concrete pavement and bituminous driveway, the top six feet of the wet well, valve vault and air release manhole, and associated items at the Whispering Oaks lift station  (see attached proposed construction plan sheet).

Quotes were solicited and opened June 11, 2021. Three quotes were received and Minger Construction from Jordan, Minnesota, is the low bidder in the amount of $35,064.00 (see attached quotation tabulation). The engineer's estimate was $51,590.00. Minger Construction has the capacity and experience for the project and is deemed a responsible bidder.

Budget Impact:

The CIP identified a project budget of $75,000.00 for the Whispering Oaks Lift Station Decommission Project. The total construction cost plus contingency, engineering, administration, and legal costs combine for a total updated project budget of $46,064.
