Staff from the Planning and Development Department attended the October PRAB meeting to provide an update on the 2040 Comprehensive Plan process. The Envision Shakopee 2040 Comprehensive Plan will be a
guidebook for the city’s vision and blueprint for the next 20 years. It will
reflect our shared concerns and aspirations, anticipate future growth and redevelopment
needs, guide decision making, and address our responsibility to future
generations.
The PRAB is now asked to provide comments on the existing Park and Open Space chapter of the 2030 Comprehensive Plan. Attached is a worksheet that the PRAB is asked to complete to assist staff in determining what we may want to include in the 2040 Comprehensive Plan and what information may no longer be useful. The board is asked to submit the worksheet to the Director of Parks and Recreation by November 28th. The information will then be compiled for discussion at the December meeting. Board members are
encouraged to review the project website, www.envisionshakopee.com, to review the Park and Open Space chapter and receive additional information. A brief overview of the Park and Open Space chapter will be provided.
