Subject:
Canterbury Park Redevelopment
Policy/Action Requested:
Feedback on concept plans
Recommendation:
Provide feedback to the development team.
Discussion:

Canterbury Park has been in existence since 1985 when it was awarded the State's first racetrack license.  The original vision of a horse person themed development has not been reached.

Canterbury is already home to Seagate and other non-race oriented uses.  The owners have been working with their development team to revision the redevelopment of the more than 400 acres in the Major Rec/Entertainment Land Use.

Current plans call for a mix of entertainment uses, retail, restaurant, hotels and residential. The plans call for a new public road system and the relocation of the horse barns away from the gateway entrance into the area from Highway 169.

The development team will present their latest plans at the meeting.
