| | | | | | | | Subject: Purchase two marked patrol vehicles for the Police Department. | | |
| | | | | | | | Policy/Action Requested:
Approve the purchase of two 2018 Ford Utility Police Interceptor AWD vehicles from Ford of Hibbing in the total amount of $57,860.90.
| | | | | | | | Recommendation: Authorize the purchase. | | |
| | | | | | | | Discussion:
The replacement of the two marked patrols Nos. sk1024 and sk1025 is included in the 2018 Capital Improvement Plan (see attached information sheet CIP No. Equip-18-001). These vehicles are being purchased under the State of Minnesota Contract No. 83064. The quotation from Ford of Hibbing is attached and is consistent with the state contract.
The two old marked patrols have 72,098 and 75,680 miles on them and will be retained to be used by the building department.
| | | | | | | | Budget Impact:
The vehicles are funded in the CIP under the Equipment Internal Services Fund. The total amount per the CIP is $100,000 ($50,000 each). The purchase amount of the two marked patrols is $28,930.45 each, excluding setup. Vehicle purchase plus the estimated setup costs are expected to fall within the budget amount.
