Of special note, following approval of the plans and authorizing bidding, the council directed to include street lighting improvements as part of the project. The replacement of one existing street light and the installation of a new second light in the west alley were subsequently completed. The street light work was not originally included in the project scope and was a primary factor resulting in the overbudget amount.
