| | | | | | | | Discussion:
In 2006, the Shakopee Fire Department (SFD) received an AFG to purchase their first 40 Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA). Being 15 years old, requiring more time and money to fix them and maintaining NFPA compliancy, new SBCA equipment is needed. For the past several years, the Fire Department has purchased five new SCBAs per year, however, the need to replace the older equipment is greater than what has been purchased to date. The SFD is requesting funding for 45 SCBA packs, 50 masks and 90 cylinders.

| | | | | | | | Budget Impact: The AFG requires a monetary 10% match for fire departments serving populations between 20,000 and 100,000. The Fire Department has money in the equipment budget to cover the 10% match. Cost estimate for the equipment is $340,000. | | |
