Long-time Shakopee resident and military veteran Mike Hanel would like to donate a memorial plaque to the City of Shakopee. The wooden memorial depicts a Battlefield Cross, which symbolizes honor, service, and the sacrifice made by fallen soldiers. The memorial is "dedicated to the veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country". 

A photo of the memorial is attached, and staff plans to display the memorial in City Hall.
