| | | | | | | | Discussion:
On September 7, 2021, City Council authorized the execution of a professional services agreement with Bolton and Menk for the design and construction administration services for the West End Lift Station, Forcemain and Watermain Project Sewer-24-001.
Plans have been prepared and are ready to solicit public bids for the improvements. Upon approval, the advertising and bidding will commence with a bid award scheduled for April 19, 2022. Construction of the improvements will be performed between May and December of 2022.
| | | | | | | | Budget Impact:
The project is budgeted in the 2022 Capital Improvement plan and will be funded by the Sanitary Sewer Fund and SPU watermain fund in the short term. The long-term sanitary funding will be fully generated and paid by property owners/developers within the service area through the Trunk Sanitary Sewer, Lateral Sanitary Sewer and Sewer Connection fees once the land is developed and/or connected to the sewer. The sanitary project costs are 100 percent recoverable from the area it will serve (e.g. future development area) and no costs are absorbed by other property owners. SPU is expected to handle both the short and long term funding for the watermain costs. Also of note, the current project estimate is higher than the CIP estimate (see attached CIP summary sheet), but full project costs and funding will be reported and considered with the upcoming bidding process.
