A private gas line easement encumbers property and right-of-way within the limits of the Maras Street, 13th Avenue and Hansen Avenue project area (see attached figure), which existed prior to the existence of the public roadway right-of-way. As such, an encroachment agreement is required for the construction of new sanitary sewer, watermain, and street lighting across the gas pipeline easement area that is in favor of Magellan Pipeline Company, L.P.

The Encroachment Agreement allows for the construction of a 2-inch electrical conduit for street lighting, 12-inch water main by Shakopee Public Utilities, and 8-inch sanitary sewer; re-construction of Maras Street and 13th Avenue; and crossing of the easement by heavy equipment during construction.

Shakopee Public Utilities Commission will be a co-signee of the agreement pertaining to the watermain improvements.
