At its May 17, 2022 meeting, Mayor and Council approved a resolution (R2022-071) allowing an application to the 2022 Minnesota Historical Society’s Minnesota Historical and Cultural Heritage Program grant. The City of Shakopee was awarded $77,500 to conduct an archeological investigation in Shakopee’s Cultural Corridor and apply for the National Register of Historic Places Nomination. | | |

A match was not required for the grant application. However, to strengthen the application, the city agreed to contribute a 100% match of $77,500. These funds are a planned portion of the Planning & Development department’s budget. | | |
