In December, council designated two polling places for the Special Election being held in April to help cut costs since it is believed it may have a smaller voter turnout.

However, it has been brought to our attention by the Secretary of State that we have to use all our polling locations. The MN Statute only has provisions for special election with a question and it is a mail election.

Staff has added a spreadsheet of what the additional cost estimates may be with the additional election judges and mailings. This estimate does not include staff time and other postage costs for mail in ballots or supplies.
