The police department receives a number of parking complaints throughout the year involving boat or utility trailers. After a review of the current Ordinance and after consultation with the county attorney, the current ordinance limits parking enforcement of trailers. For the most part, we've been able to gain compliance in the past when addressing these complaints. That said, if a ticket were issued, we are in agreement with the prosecutor that the current Ordinance language could be problematic and needs to be clarified. The amended language adds utility and boat trailer to the current Ordinance, prohibiting them from being parked on a public street for more than twenty-four hours.
