The Special Election will be canvassed on April 18, 2023 and Jesse Lara will become the newly elected Councilmember. He will leave a vacant position on the BOAA/Planning Commission.

During the interview period at the beginning of the year for the various boards and commissions, Jennifer Schleck was interviewed for the BOAA/Planning Commission. The two positions that were available on those boards were filled by the incumbents. The interview committee stated that if there became a vacancy during the year that they would recommend Ms. Schleck to council for fulfilling the position. 

Staff reached out on April 12, 2023 to Ms. Schleck and she confirmed of her continued interest in serving on the BOAA/Planning Commission.
