Authorize the hire of Officer Karen Johnson. 
Policy/Action Requested:
Approve the hiring of Officer Johnson at step nine of the 2023 union contract.
Recommendation:
Authorize the hiring of Officer Johnson.
Discussion:

Officer Karen Johnson was selected after oral interviews and is completing all pre-employment testing for the position of police officer. She comes to us with approximately twenty years of experience, including several years as a Shakopee Police Officer. 

 

Policy requires council approval for new hires starting above the midpoint of the salary range.
