Adopt Resolution R2023-068, setting a public hearing date of July 5th, 2023 for the proposed alley vacation.

Ben Beery of Wold Architects, representing ISD 720 has applied to vacate the alley in Block 74, City of Shakopee. The existing Central School building occupies the site. The existing school building encroaches into the alley. Different school buildings on the site have encroached into the alley right-of-way since at least 1937. There is not a record of the alley being vacated.

 

Mr. Beery / ISD 720 proposes to vacate the alley in anticipation of the sale of the property as an entire block. The Planning Commission will be reviewing the vacation request at the June 8th meeting. The attached resolution sets the public hearing date for the July 5th City Council meeting.
