This project was designed as part of the Shakopee Flats redevelopment area to create a trailhead at the State Trail while also providing a neighborhood park for residents of Shakopee Flats and the other developments in the area.

Staff sought bids from three companies and Meadow Green of Prior Lake provided the most responsive bid at the lowest price.

Public Works/Parks also asked that this project provide irrigation for the plantings and also the adjacent grass area that was part of the original streetscape project that has since died off.  This price includes a complete system including irrigation of the adjacent lawn area.  Power is not readily available, but Shakopee Public Utilities has developed a creative solution with the contractor that will allow power to the irrigation system.

Public Works/Park has the materials in storage to complete the project including benches, stone, and water fountain and the contractor as part of its pricing will install all of these in the park.
