| | | | | | | | Subject: Purchase of equipment and installation for Windermere Neighborhood Park | | |
| | | | | | | | Policy/Action Requested: Approve contract with St. Croix Recreation in the amount of $289,776.22 under the State Contract for slides, playground equipment, woodfiber and poured in place including installation. | | |
| | | | | | | | Recommendation: Approve contract. | | |
| | | | | | | | Discussion:
The Windermere Neighborhood Park is in the Parks Master Plan and in the current CIP.
Council has previously approved a contract with Loeffler to act as the City's Construction Manager as Agent for this park. There is substantial grading, trails, tree removal and oversight. The tower is under separate contract for design and installation by Cre8play.
Staff is using the State Contract with St. Croix Recreation for the installation of the hill slides, play steps and adjacent playground. St. Croix will also be installing poured in place on the entire hillside, which is their recommendation for safety. They will spray the hillside first with concrete and then install the poured in place on top of that to ensure a good base for the hillside.
Pricing is as follows:
Playground $ 77,282.00
Discount (5,409.74)
Freight 5,200.00
Installation 21,638.96
Surfacing PIP including 2" concrete on hill 186,415.00
Woodfiber 4,650.00
Total $ 289,776.22 | | |
| | | | | | | | Budget Impact: In current CIP for Windermere. Paid for by Park Dedication. | | |
