Every two years the mayor has the opportunity to recommend a slate of appointments that act as liaisons to various boards, committees and commissions. These recommendations are then voted on by the city council. 

Mayor Lehman originally made appointments that were approved on January 17, 2023 before the Special Election. He has since made the following recommendations (after consulting with affected councilmembers) to incorporate Councilor Jesse Lara's election.  

Councilor Jay Whiting will be removed as liaison to Downtown Shakopee/Mainstreet in place of Councilor Lara. 

Councilor Angelica Contreras will be removed as liaison to the Shakopee School District in place of Councilor Lara.
