Discussion:

The Shakopee Chamber has submitted a request on behalf of the Shakopee Brewhall a request to close 1st Avenue between Holmes Street and Lewis Street for their sixth year anniversary event.

They will be doing the "Bockfest" in which they poke beer with a hot stainless-steel rod. The event will be on September 16th from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm. The request with a map of the layout is attached.

There will be German-themed vendors, axe throwing, a beer garden on their parklet, their jockey box outside the storefront to serve on 1st. They will also have live music on the parklet. They will have wristbands on participants who purchase alcohol. A couple of foods trucks will also be parked within the street closure.

They ask for the street to be closed starting at 10 am until 5 pm, with the event starting at 11 am, on Saturday September 16th, 2023.

The Police Department and the Planning Department have no issues with this event.
