Discussion:
The attached designs were created by RSP Architects to reflect the new image for River City Centre. Business names will be mounted on the canopies along First Avenue and lighted by internal LED. The rear will have black panels with names back lighted with LED.
The original design was black panels on front and back but it was found that the western-most building is eighteen inches shorter and that signs would not be the same size or fit in some areas. The designers developed the new sign concepts to provide similar-sized lighted letters on the canopies.
Prior to the EDA ownership, signs on First Avenue were flat with no lighting and the rear signs were box formed letters for each tenant.
Staff advertised for bids and sent out more than a dozen packages to companies in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
